While James Franklin dominates most of the recruiting news this time of the year, the Penn State basketball staff is out on the road as well.
The AAU circuit is in full swing, which means college basketball coaches are jumping from state to state and tournament to tournament evaluating players in various grade levels.
That’s certainly the case with Penn State basketball coach Mike Rhoades and his staff as they look improve the quality of their future rosters.
In his first season as Nittany Lions head coach, Rhoades went 16-17 and 9-11 in Big Ten action, which was good for 9th place in the conference.
Over the last 24 hours, the Penn State staff has extended a few offers and also reportedly set up official visits with players in the Class of 2025.
NEW PENN STATE BASKETBALL OFFERS:
-2026 four-star power forward Toni Bryant from North Tampa Christian Academy in Zephyrhills, Florida. Bryant (6’9″, 200) also holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Ole Miss, Ohio State, Texas A&M, UNLV, Wake Forest and Central Florida. Bryant is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in the Class of 2026.
-2026 shooting guard Abdou Toure from West Haven, Connecticut. The 6’6″ guard has also received offers from Oregon, Alabama, Arizona State, Providence, Rutgers and Central Florida. During his freshman season, Toure averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds.
UPCOMING PENN STATE OFFICIAL VISITORS:
-Per Basketball Insider, Penn State will be hosting 2025 4-star recruit Chris Jeffrey on an upcoming official visit. Following outstanding performances in local tournaments, the Penn State staff recently offered Jeffrey an offer. The Top 70 recruit recently made an official visit recently to Maryland.

-Per Happy Valley Insider, 2025 4-star point guard Kayden Mingo has scheduled an official visit to Penn State. Mingo attends Long Island Lutheran in Glen Head, New York and is rated as the No. 43 overall player in the Class of 2025.
