Penn State football’s Class of 2025 has picked up a commitment from a blue-chip defensive end.
Early Wednesday afternoon, Yvan Kemajou, a 6-foot-3, 230-pounder from Paint Beach High School in Burtonsville, Maryland, announced his commitment to Penn State.
He chose PSU over Duke, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others. He also had offers from Charlotte, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Pitt and Virginia.
Penn State football offered Kemajou this past December, after a big season in which he finished with 46 tackles and 6.5 sacks. In January, he visited one of the school’s Junior Day events and took his official visit the last weekend of May. He also took OVs to Rutgers (June 7-9), Duke (June 14-16), Indiana (June 18-20) and Virginia Tech (June 21). This past weekend, he was at Penn State for the annual Lasch Bash, which is the biggest recruiting event of the summer.
After Lasch Bash weekend, Kemajou talked with 247Sports‘ Brian Dohn about his work with Penn State’s defensive line coach, Deion Barnes, over the event.
“Coach Barnes was really telling me different things to work on with my game, giving me tips and tricks for my senior season,” Kemajou said. “Coach Franklin said to have fun and enjoy the day. It was a great experience.”
In an earlier interview with Dohn in late April, Kemajou explained what he liked about Penn State.
“D-ends. D-end training,” he said. “They send them to the league.”
Indeed, they do.
Penn State had two defensive ends drafted this spring.
Chop Robinson went to the Dolphins with the 21st overall pick, and Adisa Isaac went to the Ravens in the third round.
