James Franklin, Terry Smith and the Penn State coaching staff are vying for one of the top four-star talents in the Pittsburgh area in the Class of 2026 and the Nittany Lions received some good news on that front.
Kyshawn Robinson — a 5-foot-10, 170-pound athlete from Pittsburgh Westinghouse Academy — placed Penn State in his top six schools on Tuesday. The other top programs included in that list were Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia, Colorado and Florida State.
Smith, who is Robinson’s lead recruiter, was one of the first programs to extend him a D-1 offer before his recruitment exploded nationally.
Robinson is one of the top prospects to come out of Pittsburgh in the coming years and he had to cut his list from 39 Division I offers. Robinson holds a four-star ranking from 247Sports and Rivals.com. According to 247Sports, Robinson is the 228th player in the cycle, 19th-best safety and sixth-ranked player in Pa.
Robinson has starred at Westinghouse over the past two seasons, winning two City Titles and appearing in two PIAA championship games during that span.
