The Penn State basketball program has received some good news.
Head coach Mike Rhoades and his staff will be hosting a fast rising prospect in the Class of 2025 on an official visit.
4-star 6’7” small forward Mason Blackwood has scheduled an official visit to Penn State during the weekend of September 7. Blackwood is from New Hampton Prep in New Hampton, New Hampshire and also plays for the Albany City Rocks (AAU).
The basketball recruiting website NYCHoops.net had this recent assessment of Blackwood’s game-
“Blackwood is an inside-outside scoring threat with an ability to put the ball on the deck comfortably at his size and create his own shot off the dribble. A ferocious above-rim finisher, who has been a proficient around the rim threat.”

This will be Blackwood’s second official visit as back in June, he traveled to Rutgers.
Blackwood has seen his recruitment skyrocket in the last two months now holding offers from Boston College, George Mason, Georgetown, Marquette, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Texas A&M, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Washington and West Virginia.
