Williams will be announcing his commitment July 13.
He has an official visit to Penn State scheduled for the weekend of June 14. Before that, he’ll be taking an OV to Texas A&M June 6-8. The weekend after, he’ll be in Ann Arbor for a Michigan OV. Williams was last at Penn State in January for one of the school’s Junior Day events. He’s been on the school’s radar for a while, having been offered in August 2022.
Since then, he’s continued to blossom in the prep world.
He ended the 2022 season— his sophomore year— with 582 yards and five touchdowns on 31 receptions.
His junior year was even better.
This past season, Williams eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark, going for 1,251 yards and 14 touchdowns on 80 catches, good for a 15.6 yards per catch average.
Williams also plays basketball a runs track.
He’s also originally from Pennsylvania.
Williams grew up in the Churchill area of Pittsburgh and would have played at Woodland Hills High School had his family not moved to Dallas.
Williams told Rivals.com he didn’t expect much from his visit to Penn State but ended up pleasantly surprised.
“I just thought I would go up there and not like it,” Williams said. “But I actually enjoyed myself and I enjoyed the coaches. Coach (James) Franklin, he’s a very genuine dude and I like that a lot. And coach (Marques) Hagans, he is genuine too. He talks about life outside of football, mental health, all of that. And I really like that because not everything’s about football.”
