All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player. This edition will look at walk-on safety Patrick Williams
Height: 6-feet
Weight: 197 pounds
Hometown: Brooklyn, New York
Before Penn State: Williams played tight end, receiver and linebacker at Eagle Academy. He helped the team to 10 wins in 2018.
2022: Williams redshirted the 2022 season.
2023: Williams didn’t appear in any games.
Where he stands: It’s unlikely that Williams will have a big role in Penn State’s secondary from an on-field standpoint. The safeties room is led by potential first-round draft pick KJ Winston and features veterans Jaylen Reed and Zakee Wheatley, who each have been getting regular playing time since 2022. But Williams is now one of Penn State’s veterans, and the example he sets behind the scenes could be invaluable.
