All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player. This edition will look at walk-on safety Jashaun Green.
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 171 pounds
Hometown: State College, Pennsylvania
Before Penn State: Green was a three-year letterman at State College Area High School, becoming a captain for his senior season. He was the team’s MVP that year, ending the season with 800 yards and 10 touchdowns on 42 catches and also running for 250 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Green totaled more than 1,000 yards of offense as a senior and added 22 tackles and an interception. He committed to Penn State as a walk-on in February 2022.
2022: Green redshirted his first season and didn’t appear in any games.
2023: Green didn’t see any game action
Where he stands: Green is part of a deep safeties room and, as a walk-on, is unlikely to see a lot of playing time in 2023. With that said, there’s a good chance he makes his college debut, which would be a feel-good moment for the State College faithful.
A quote by Green: I chose to go to Penn State because I feel like I can work hard and be able to earn a scholarship and earn playing time,” he said. “I know I wanted to push myself harder than going to like a division two school. Even though I could get playing time, I feel like it’s better for me to choose a higher level school to achieve my goals and dreams.”
