Penn State Basketball to Get Official Visit from NEC Player of the Year

Penn State coach Mike Rhoades is busy in the transfer portal attempting to strengthen his roster for the 2024-25 season.

PSU has already received a commitment from Xavier transfer center Kachi Nzeh and is working hard to land one of the top transfer guards.

Merrimack transfer guard Jordan Derkack, who was named the NEC Player of the Year, has announced that he’ll be making an official visit to Penn State. This visit will take place this coming weekend.

This past season, the 6-foot-5 sophomore guard averaged 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3.9 assists for Merrimack.

Along with Penn State, Derkack also announced that he’ll be making visits to Rutgers, Seton Hall and USC. He said his list isn’t final and he remains open to other programs.

Penn State is also a finalist for Northern Kentucky guard Marques Warrick, who averaged an impressive 19.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists this past season.

As on now, Rhoades has the challenge of trying to replace nine players from last year’s roster. However, only one of those players was a regular starter, that being center Qudus Wahab.
