The Kid is Alright: True Freshman Braeden Davis Wins Big Ten Title for Penn State Wrestling

For what felt like the longest time, Penn State wrestling didn’t have a formidable 125-pounder.

He surprised everybody at the tournament by winning the whole thing, beating a trio of nationally ranked performers in Wisconsin’s Eric Barnett (No. 5,) Michigan’s Michael DeAugustino (No. 16) and, finally, Minnesota’s Patrick McKee (No. 4) in the finals. The last win came in an 8-1 decision, with Davis slamming McKee to the ground at the end of the bout to put an exclamation mark on it.
