Before 1 p.m. Thursday, Penn State officially landed two cornerbacks from the transfer portal.
The first was Georgia CB A.J. Harris, a former five-star recruit who played at UGA for his true freshman season in 2023.
Hours later, a CB who had played at Florida, then committed to Louisville, announced that he had flipped to Penn State.

His name is Jalen Kimber. The 6-foot, 185-pounder played four seasons in the SEC, playing at Georgia from 2020-21 and then Florida from ‘22-23. This past season, he deflected five passes and made 24 tackles. Kimber entered the transfer portal in late December and committed to Louisville near the end of the year. Now, he’s flipped to Penn State and currently enrolled with winter classes being underway.
Before college, Kimber was a four-star recruit from Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas.
In a stake posted to X (formerly Twitter), Kimber wrote that he’s “sincerely thankful to God for blessing me with the talent to play football and the opportunity to follow my passion.”
“I extend my gratitude to the University of Louisville, Coach (Jeff) Brohm and Coach (Ron) English for the chance to join their program. My approach has always been respectful and professional towards all coaches and staff who recruited me.”
“Throughout this journey, I’ve learned a lot about myself and the importance of a school that aligns with my academic and athletic needs.”
This transfer portal season, Penn State knew it had to fill the shoes of Kalen King and Johnny Dixon, its 2023 starting outside corners who have departed. It’s gone a long way toward doing that with the additions of Harris and Kimber.
