Fashanu, who is one of many players speaking at Penn State’s bowl media day in State College, also said he hasn’t decided on whether he’ll enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
Many thought Fashanu was going to enter the 2023 Draft, but he surprised America and decided to stay at Penn State for this season.
It would be an even bigger surprise for Fashanu to turn down the draft again. He’s widely expected to be a top 10 pick, perhaps even going in the top three. Fashanu had an excellent 2023 season at Penn State and America noticed. Fashnau got some more good news this week.
Left tackle Fashanu had already been named a first-team All-American by the AP and Walter Camp Football Foundation.
This week, the Sporting News has named him one, making Fashanu the first Penn State OL to be named a unanimous All-American since center Jeff Hartings accomplished that feat in 1995.
Hartings went onto have an 11-year NFL career. He was twice named All-Pro and being part of a Super Bowl winner with the 2005 Steelers. Hartings played his first five seasons with the Detroit Lions, who drafted him 23rd overall in 1996.
