Penn State upset Ohio State with a come-from-behind 83-89 win.

Penn State (5-5, 1-1), struggled at the beginning, and Ohio State (8-2, 1-1) led 14-9 five minutes in.

Ohio State kept command throughout the rest of the first half, leading 37-29 with less than four minutes to go.

OSU kept control for the rest of the first half and led 41-29.

By the first media timeout of the second half, Ohio State led by 17.

Penn State continued to fight and only trailed by five at the under-eight media timeout.

PSU ended up going on an 11-0 run and cutting the deficit to two, with a 3 by D’Marco Dunn making it a one-possession game.

Penn State continued to hang tough and only trailed by three at the U4 timeout.

A 3-pointer by Leo O’Boyle tied the game with around two and a half minutes left.

But Ohio State retook the lead with 1:08 left on a putback by Felix Okpara. Penn State tied the game, and a 3 by Ace Baldwin with 30.9 seconds left made it Penn State 79, Ohio State 76.

With 22 seconds left, Hicks was fouled and hit one of two free throws.

But Ohio State missed a 3-pointer, and PSU’s Qudus Wahab rebounded it and was fouled.

Wahab made both free throws to make it 82-78

Ohio State scored with four seconds left on a basket by Dale Bonner to make it 82-80.

Bonner missed the “and-one” shot, and Clary got the rebound.

Clary got fouled and made one of two foul shots, but that was enough for the 83-80 win.

Penn State’s next game is scheduled for next Saturday, Dec. 16, against Georgia Tech at Madison Square Garden. Tip-off is set for noon on the Big Ten Network.
