Welcome Penn State fans to Nittany Sports Now’s bowl projections.
With the College Football Playoff rankings being in their third week and the season reaching Week 11 and beyond, it’s time for the second edition of our bowl projections.
Rutgers comes to University Park for a showdown against Penn State and a chance to improve its bowl selection being one of six Big Ten teams that’s bowl eligible.
Penn State sits at 8-2 after losing to Michigan and having fired offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. It just might be a new look Nittany Lions crew on offense against the Scarlet Knights.
For now, though Penn State sits at No. 12 in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, which should put them directly in line for a New Year’s Six Bowl Game once again. Penn State can still finish 10-2 and with its losses coming to Michigan and Ohio State and could see a rise in the polls over the final weeks of the regular season.
Each week, we’re going to take a shot at projections for where Penn State and other teams will play their bowl games. For simplicity, I’ve projected the CFP Semifinals and National Championship, New Year’s Six bowls as well as bowls the Big Ten is eligible for.
