UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State quarterback Drew Allar has– for now– exited Saturday’s game against Rutgers in the third quarter with an apparent injury.
Allar rushed for 8 yards on a quarterback draw before getting tackled hard by Rutgers defensive back Flip Dixon. On the next play, Allar dropped back to pass, but tossed it out of bounds and looked to be in a considerable amount of pain on the errant throw.
Allar headed straight to the sidelines, took his helmet off and went into the medical tent with Penn State’s medical staff.
Allar’s right shoulder didn’t seem to have a lot of mobility on the sideline.
Backup quarterback Beau Pribula took over after Allar’s exit, but the drive would end on a failed fourth down conversion inside the Rutgers five-yard line.
