Penn State returns to Beaver Stadium following its loss to Ohio State to host Indiana Saturday, and the odds are in PSU’s favor.
Indiana sits at 2-5 and is fresh off a 31-14 loss to Rutgers. It’s given up 21 or more points in each loss and have given up 31 or more points in its last three games.
Penn State will enter the game as 31-point favorites according to Circa Sports despite its lackluster showing in Columbus. ESPN has PSU as 30.5-point favorites. The gist is that Penn State’s favored big time this weekend.
Penn State has covered and then some outside of its loss to Ohio State and sportsbooks are expecting that to continue.
Coordinator Manny Diaz’s defense did more than its fair share and will continue doing so, but it will need a lot of help from the offense which failed to do much against the Ohio State. Clearly, Indiana isn’t Ohio State, but there can’t be much confidence flowing offensively after a showing like that.
This is the type of game where you’ll see just how invested everybody is as the rest of the season starts against Indiana. After facing the IU, Penn State hits the road to take on Maryland before returning to University Park for another top-10 tilt, this one against Michigan.
Outside of the game against Michigan, Penn State should he heavy favorites for the remainder of the season. Although the spreads won’t always feature Penn State as four-touchdown favorites, they should be double-digit favorites nonetheless.
The game against Indiana will kick off at Noon Saturday on CBS. It will be the second time Penn State’s been on CBS this season. CBS also had Penn State’s 31-0 win over Iowa Sept. 23.
