On Monday evening Penn State picked up a vital commitment from its 2024 recruiting class in Jaylen Harvey, a four-star edge rusher prospect out of Quince Orcard High School in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Penn State beat out Florida, Maryland and USC, among others, for Harvey (6-foot-3, 250 pounds) who is the No. 13 player in Maryland, the No. 30 edge rusher, and the No. 360 player in the country.
Harvey is a game wrecker who has shown versatility, playing all over the Quince Orchard’s defensive line. At Penn State, Harvey will have an opportunity to play on the edge or play the three-technique defensive tackle.
Harvey blends his power to bull rush offensive linemen, as well as his athleticism and closing speed to corral quarterbacks and ball carriers.
Harvey will join fellow four-star defensive linemen Liam Andrews, T.A. Cunningham, and Mylachi Williams. Penn State also received commitments from three-star DLs De’Andre Cook and Xavier Gilliam, all of whom committed over the summer.
