Penn State Nittany Lions defensive tackle Hakeem Beamon (51) November 12, 2022 David Hague/NSN

All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player. Here’s a profile of defensive tackle Hakeem Beamon.

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 284 pounds

Hometown: Midlothian, Va.

Before Penn State: Beamon was a four-time letterman in high school, earning two letters at Manchester High School and two at Bird High School. He would also become team captain as a senior and guided the Lancers to a Virginia Class 6 State Championship for the first time in program history with a 15-0 record. He would earn such awards as All-USA Virginia Football Team first team by USA Today and Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 6 Defensive Player of the Year. Beamon was Rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports and ESPN and a three-star recruit by Rivals, rated as the No. 164 overall prospect, No. 10 strongside defensive end, and No. 4 recruit in Virginia by 247Sports…Ranked as the No. 33 defensive end, No. 11 recruit in Virginia by ESPN, and No. 17 prospect in Virginia by Rivals.

2022: Played in 13 games, making 12 starts at defensive tackle … Made 16 tackles (8 solo), six tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries. He also led the defensive line with four pass breakups. He was also named the coaching staff’s Defensive Player of the Week when the Nittany Lions played Indiana on Nov. 11.

Where He Stands: Beamon is expected to play a large role along the defensive front much like 2022. It’s an imposing defensive unit with an opportunity for Beamon to thrive alongside Adisa Isaac and Chop Robinson. With a strong season, Beamon should start to appear on some major draft boards for when that time comes.
