Starting at midnight Thursday, June 15, college basketball coaches can reach out to Class of 2025 recruits, and two of them have confirmed to Nittany Sports Now that Penn State has reached out.

Alier Maluk is one of them, and Jackson Keith is the other.

Maluk is a big recruiting name and an in-state prospect.

The 6-foot-9, 180-pound center is a star at Pittsburgh’s Imani Christian Academy and a five-star recruit according to 247Sports’ composite ratings. 247Composite has Maluk as the second-ranked player in Pennsylvania, the No. 3 center in the country and the No. 19 overall player from the ’25 Class. Penn State offered him late last month, and he also has offers from Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, Pitt, Seton Hall, Texas A&M and West Virginia.

Keith is a 6-foot-5 small forward from Durham, North Carolina’s Southern High School. He’s a four-star, according to 247’s site ratings. 247 has him as the second-ranked player in North Carolina, the No. 10 small forward in the country and the 46th-ranked overall player from the ’25 Class. He also has offers from schools such as Florida State, George Mason, Illinois, Mississippi State, NC State, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

Penn State basketball only has one player committed from the ’23 Class and none from the ’24 or ’25 classes. Icelandic Class of 2023 guard Bragi Gudmundsson committed last month. Gudmundsson (6-foot-5, 185 pounds) will be 20 in October.

He previously played for Grindavik, a team in the Iceland-Subway league, where he spent four seasons.

Last year, Gudmundsson averaged 10 points per game, shooting more than 34 percent from the field and more than 28 percent from beyond the arc, according to EuroBasket. Gudmundsson also averaged four rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
