Penn State Daily: May 18– Basketball Offers a 3-Star, Top ‘25 Football Commit Gets Offered by Another Big 10 School

Update (4:25 p.m.) —

**Penn State has offered 2026 athlete Julian Peterson (6-foot-1, 175-pounds). Peterson plays running back and free safety for Winslow Township in New Jersey.

Peterson took an unofficial visit to Penn State a few months ago and has also been offered by West Virginia.

Update (1:13 p.m.)—

**Penn State’s top-rated ‘25 commit, Jaelyne Matthews, has received an offer from Michigan State. Matthews is a four-star OT out of Toms River North High school in New Jersey. The 6-foot-8, 280-pounder also has offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

Update (12:22 p.m.)—

**Penn State football has extended an offer to Jarquez Carter (2025), a 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle from Newberry High School in Florida. This is Carter’s first power five offer.

Carter also has offers from Edward Waters, Florida A&M, Temple, UCF, USF and Western Kentucky.

**Penn State basketball has extended an offer to Austin Swartz(2024), a three-star shooting guard from the Cannon School in Concord, North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Swartz also has offers from schools such as Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Richmond, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

**Penn State has also offered Kelvin Kainoa Winston (2025), a four-star safety from Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. Winston (6-feet, 190) also has offers from schools such as Boston College, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Norte Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, USC and Wisconsin.

Update (11:05 a.m.)—

**Penn State’s offered Tyler Merrill (2026), an in-state, 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman from Cumberland Valley High School. Merrill also has offers from Akron, Iowa State, Kent State, Pitt, Syracuse, Temple and West Virginia.

Update (10:32 a.m.)—

**Penn State football has extended an offer to Dimitry Nicolas (2024), a four-star defensive lineman from Miami Norman’s High School in Florida. Nicolas (6-foot-4, 295 pounds) also has offers from schools such as Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Syracuse, Texas A&M and West Virginia.
