On Friday, former Penn State tight end Brenton Strange signed his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Aaron Wilson of KRPC 2 in Houston.

The deal is for four years, $6.1 million. Strange was selected in the second round, 61st overall by Jacksonville in last month’s NFL Draft.

Strange (6-foot-3, 253 pounds) caught a career-high 32 catches for 362 yards and five touchdowns for Penn State last season. His best game last season came against Auburn when he caught six passes for 80 yards.

Strange’s biggest play of the season on a critical 67-yard touchdown catch towards the end of the first half in Penn State’s 35-31 season-opening win over Purdue.

Strange will play alongside former New York Giant Evan Engram as the number two tight end, and Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson will most likely use a lot of two tight end sets.

Strange and former Penn State teammate Parker Washington are currently participating in Jacksonville’s rookie minicamp, which will conclude Sunday.
