Penn State Picks Up Commitment From 2024 3-Star In-State Offensive Lineman Caleb Brewer

On Saturday, following the school’s annual Blue-White spring scrimmage, Class of 2024 three-star offensive lineman Caleb Brewer from Wyomissing High School near Reading, Pennsylvania, announced his commitment to Penn State.

Brewer was teammates with prized 2023 signee J’Ven Williams at Wyomissing and is one of the fastest rising recruits in Pennsylvania. He chose Penn State over Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke and Illinois.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Brewer pounds) is the No. 17 player in Pennsylvania, the No. 59 athlete nationally and the No. 561 player overall, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Brewer plays both offensive tackle and defensive tackle for Wyomissing.

Brewer could well have the versatility to play both positions at Penn State. He can also play along the defensive line and is even athletic enough to play tight end if need be. Brewer also wrestles and competes in the discus and shot put, throwing a personal best of 41-9 in the shot put and 117-5 in the discus.

Back in January, Brewer talked with NSN about his recruitment.

His interest in PSU sports goes beyond football.

“I went to the Penn State wrestling match on Friday (against Michigan) and Coach (James) Franklin was there,” said Brewer. “He was all hyped at the match, cheering for the wrestlers and the team. He’s a cool guy, and my opinion of him really changed today because I didn’t realize how him and Penn State are so dedicated to academics for their student athletes. That really made an impression on me. Making sure their players have academic success is something that’s a real priority at Penn State.”

Brewer discussed offensive line coach Phil Trautwein and his role in his recruiting process with Blue White Illustrated.

“Penn State is a great college,” Brewer said. “I really like (Trautwein), he is a great coach that I would like to get coached by. He talked to me throughout the day and was telling me that he thinks I would be a great player there.”

Brewer’s the second in-state offensive lineman in the offensive line room in the 2024 recruiting cycle along with Cooper Cousins of McDowell High School near Erie, Pennsylvania.
