Jacob Oden, a Class of 2024 four-star athlete out of Harber Woods, Michigan, has narrowed his top schools down to just five, and Penn State made the list.

Penn State is in the running along with Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee for the commitment of Oden.
Oden (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) is the number five player in Michigan, the No. 16 athlete, and the No. 160 player ranked nationally, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Penn State extended an offer to Oden in May, and he holds 42 offers to date.
Oden, who primarily plays safety for Harbor Woods, most recently visited Penn State for its “White Out” game against Minnesota on Oct. 22. He also participated in one of the Elite Showcase Camps on June 22.
Oden is versatile enough to also play cornerback, wide receiver, and can help out on special teams. Oden’s father and high school head coach Rod played running back at Michigan, however, Rod’s connection to Michigan will have no bearing in Jacob’s decision.
Oden is predicted by 247 Crystal Ball to commit to Michigan State, however, there is a long way to go in his recruitment process and Penn State has a solid track record against Michigan State in recruiting battles.

Penn State would like to add to its 2024 recruiting class, which currently only has one member, four-star offensive lineman Cooper Cousins, out of McDowell High school in Erie, Pennsylvania.
