A dream offer came in today for Pennsylvania native Joey Palko.
The 2023 defensive end/tight end from Pottsville, Pennsylvania got word that he had received his first Power Five offer from Penn State. Things becomes interesting now for Palko because back in August, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound defensive end verbally committed to Bucknell.
Palko obviously now has a decision to make regarding his future.
Following the big news, Nittany Sports Now caught up with Palko to find out his reaction and how this relationship developed with the Nittany Lions.
“My relationship started my junior year when I went on my first visit for the record setting overtime game against Illinois,” said Palko. “I then was in contact with Coach Poindexter, and he visited me at my school in January. I was given my offer from defensive line coach John Scott Jr, this past Saturday after a great conversation with him and Coach Elby. They see a lot of potential in me and think their defensive program and scheme fits me perfectly.”

“It has always been a dream to even be recruited by Penn State so to have an opportunity to potentially play for them is a great feeling.”
The big question is how does this change Palko’s decision with Bucknell or does it? At least for today, that was something he didn’t want to get into.
“No comment on a decision,” said Palko. “I remain committed to Bucknell right now.”
Penn State currently has 20 commitments in their class of 2023, but only one from a defensive end –Â four-star Jameial Lyons from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
