Penn State is in the running along Alabama, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A & M. Gatling is the No. 38 ranked player in Georgia, the No. 39 wide receiver, and the No. 273 player nationally, according to 247Sports composite rankings.
The 6-foot-0, 172-pound Gatling caught 36 passes for 705 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2021. He also caught an interception playing defense for Milton High School, who went 13-2 and made the Georgia 7A. He showed his speed when he posted an 11.48 in the 100-yard dash while running track last spring.

Penn State extended an offer to Gatling in March, and he has yet to visit Penn State, and it is not known when he will do so.
Gatling spoke to Jed May, National Recruiting Analyst from Rivals.com, about Penn State earlier this summer and spoke about Penn State in his recruiting process.
āThe running back coach (JaJuan Seider) and Coach Slim (Chris Mahon, offensive personnel assistant), and the receivers coach (Taylor Stubblefield were all talking. Coach Slim always, he likes every single one of my tweets. I really like that. It shows that heās keeping in contact even though he canāt call me and stuff like that. We do chat and call. The running backs coach is really the one I have a relationship with. He came to see me at school, sat down, and talked for a second. They really want me. Iām going to try to get up there for a game this year.ā
Penn State is looking to add to offensive guard Cooper Cousins in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
