Two four-star players in the Class of 2024– Kevin Heywood and Dominic Nichols— have received a Rivals Future Cast and a 247Sports Crystal ball prediction, respectively, to Penn State.
Heywood, a 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive tackle out of Warminster, Pennsylvania, and Nichols, a four-star edge-rusher out of Ijamsville, Maryland, are favored to land at Penn State.
Heywood, a standout at Archbishop Wood High School, has offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan and Rutgers along with Penn State.
He’s the No. 25 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 12 tackle in Pennsylvania according to Rivals.
Penn State offered him in June.
Nittany Sports Now caught up with Heywood last month. Heywood, who grew up a Penn State fan, said it was “really shocking” when Penn State offered him.
“My sister’s already going there, one,” he said, “and I always watched Penn State on TV, and it was really big for me. Penn State’s a powerhouse school.”
Heywood impressed coaches and scouts with his size, speed and athletic ability at camps over the summer.
Nichols is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound EDGE prospect out of Oakdale High School and has received offers from Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Nichols is the No.9 player in Maryland, the No. 22 edge rusher and the No 275 player nationally according to 247Sports’ composite ratings.
Scouts like his speed to get off the edge and get to the quarterback, and Nichols already has the ideal size for an edge rusher at a Power Five school.
If either of these two commit, they’d join Cooper Cousins in Penn State’s 2024 class.
