The Penn State women’s volleyball team will host West Virginia on Saturday evening as a part of the Penn State Invitational taking place at Rec Hall on the university campus.
Penn State will play host to Connecticut on Friday at 7:30 p.m., then they will face Loyola (MD.) on Saturday at 11 a.m., then will face West Virginia at 7 p.m. to conclude the invitational.
Penn State will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to play in the Tiger Classic where they will face Iowa State on Friday at 1 p.m. and Troy at 6 p.m. on Saturday play the host team LSU at 4 p.m.
Then Penn State will travel to Minneapolis to play Stanford on Sept. 9 and Oregon on Sept. 10 as a part of the Big 10/Pac 12 challenge.
Penn State will then host the Penn State Classic, where they will host Howard on Sept. 16, Albany on Sep. 17, and conclude their non-conference schedule by facing Coastal Carolina later that evening.
Penn State will host Indiana on Sept. 23 and Michigan on Sept. 24 to begin conference play.
Penn State will be debuting only their third head coach in school history this weekend when Katie Schumacher-Cawley takes over for Russ Rose. Rose led Penn State to seven national championships, most recently in 2014, and his teams never missed the NCAA tournament.
Schumacher-Crawley was the associate head coach from 2018-2021, and played at Penn State from 1998-2001, where she helped Penn State to the 1999 national Championship.
Penn State will return 13 players from a team who went 21-11 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
