Penn State is getting a big visit Saturday.
Five-star 2024 cornerback Omillio Agard announced via Twitter that he’s returning to State College for the first time since the 2021 White Out game against Auburn.
Agard is currently rated as the 22nd-best recruit in the class of 2024 according to 247Sports and the 37th-best prospect according to Rivals. He’s rated as the fifth- and third-best cornerback in the country according to the two outlets, as well as the second-best prospect in Pennsylvania.
He currently plays high school football in Philadelphia at St. Joseph’s Prep School. Last season the school finished 11-3 overall, 4-1 in its conference and lost to WPIAL school Mt. Lebanon in the PIAA Class-6A state championship game.
Agard (6-foot, 170 pounds), has 22 total offers, from places such as Boston College, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin. According to 247Sports, he’s also received interest from Clemson and Ohio State, but has yet to receive an offer from either school.
Penn State currently has a young cornerback group with eight of their 13 corners set to be either a freshman or sophomore next year. This includes former four-star recruits Keaton Ellis, Joey Porter Jr. and Kalen King. Agard would be the highest rated recruit out of all of them, although there’s obviously stiff competition to get him.
That being said, head coach James Franklin just landed the sixth-best recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports and currently has the fifth-best class in 2023.
Currently only offensive tackle Cooper Cousins from McDowell High School in Erie, Pennsylvania, is the lone Penn State commit for the class of 2024.
