Desmond Umeozulu, a Class of 2023 four-star recruit from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, has narrowed his choice down to nine schools, and Penn State is one of them.
Umeozulu also has Clemson, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio State, Pitt, South Carolina and Texas on his list. He is a 6-foot-6, 230-pound edge rusher that played weakside defensive end for Charles Herbert Flowers High School, which reached the Maryland 4A state semifinals this past season.
I must first thank our Father above for all that He has blessed me with and continue to do in my life. With that being said, here’s my top 9️⃣ pic.twitter.com/pFI8Rza5fW

247sports.com rates Umeozulu as the No. 2 recruit in Maryland, the No. 10 edge rusher in the country and the No. 121 overall recruit in the Class of 2023.
Umeozulu plays most of the time with his hand in the dirt but also has had reps playing as a stand-up outside linebacker. He has the length, quick twitch ability, and explosiveness to play both outside linebacker and on the defensive line at the college level, and he has already been invited to play in the 2023 Polynesian Bowl.
Umeozulu would be the first edge rusher to commit to the Nittany Lions in the Class of 2023 and the tenth commit overall. He would join fellow Marylander Dani Dennis-Sutton from the Class of 2022 on the Penn State defensive line.
