Penn State Falls to Ohio State in Big Ten Opener

Micah Shrewsberry’s first Big Ten win will have to wait.

Penn State fell to Ohio State, 76-64, in its Big Ten opener Sunday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Buckeyes led 41-30 at halftime, and the Nittany Lions never fully recovered in the second half.

Jalen Pickett led Penn State with 23 points, with Seth Lundy (13) and John Harrar (12) each adding double figures. For Ohio State, Kyle Young led the way with 16 points and E.J. Liddell (14) and Malachi Branham (11) also cracked double digits. Former Nittany Lion Jamari Wheeler had nine. Penn State returns to out of conference play Wednesday evening when Wagner comes to Bryce Jordan and is back in the Big Ten Saturday, Dec. 11, at Michigan State.
