Penn State senior Jahan Dotson had been in the midst of a stellar season before the Nittany Lions took on Maryland Saturday afternoon, but he hadn’t had that signature game yet.
It’s safe to say his 11 catch, 242 yards and three touchdown outing against the Terrapins counts as a signature moment, breaking the program record for receiving yards in a single game — breaking the record set by Deon Butler in 2006.
For his effort, Dotson was named as the Reese’s Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week and the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week — an honor shared with Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell.

Dotson has now racked up 932 yards and nine touchdowns on 71 receptions this season, recording double-digit receptions and a hundred plus yards in back-to-back games.
Dotson has made a reception in 38 straight games, dating back to the 2018 season, and he’s one of only two receivers in the FBS with at least 70 catches, 900 yards and nine touchdowns in nine games this season.
He currently ranks first in receptions and second in receiving yards and touchdowns in the Big 10.
With the 2022 NFL Draft looming next April, Dotson has drawn rave reviews from draft analysts, consistently ranking among the top wide receivers in the draft. He’s likely an early pick in the draft.
