Penn State Begins to Slip in Betting Odds to Win the Big 10

Penn State Football at Home

After the loss to No. 2 Iowa on Saturday, Penn State’s national championship odds were slashed. According to BetOnline, the Nittany Lions’ conference championship odds dropped too.

No. 6 Ohio State is the favorite to win the conference, holding 4/7 odds, while Iowa is just behind with 5/2 odds. No. 8 Michigan holds 6/1 odds, and No. 10 Michigan State holds 16/1 odds.

Despite being ranked ahead of both Michigan and MSU, the Lions now hold 20/1 odds to win the conference — ahead of three loss Wisconsin at 33/1.

While the trio of OSU, Michigan and MSU hasn’t lost conference games yet, staying ahead of the Lions in the Big 10-East, the Lions’ loss to Iowa moved the conference record to 2-1 thus far. However, with games remaining against all three teams, the Lions still control their own destiny.

Without a game on the schedule this week, the Lions will have a week to prepare for Illinois on Sept. 23 before a stretch of Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State over a course of five weeks to end the season.
