Another player of the week accolade for a member of the Penn State football program.
This morning, the Big Ten Conference announced that quarterback Sean Clifford was the Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the award with Northwestern running back Evan Hull.
In Saturday’s 38-17 win over Villanova, Clifford led the Nittany Lions offense passing for a career-high 401 yards and 4 touchdown passes.

Clifford became only the second Penn State quarterback ever to pass for over 400 yards, joining Christian Hackenberg, who threw for 454 yards against Central Florida in 2014. He becomes just one of ten FBS quarterbacks to throw for more than 400 yards this season.
This conference player of the week honor is the first in Clifford’s career and first Nittany Lion Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week since wide receiver KJ Hamler in October of 2019.
