**Penn State extends an offer today to 2023 4-star cornerback Jordan Matthews from Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Matthews received the offer from assistant coach Terry Smith. Matthews (6’1″, 165) is rated by Rivals as one of the Top 100 players in the Class of 2023 and the No. 15 ranked cornerback. Along with Penn State, Matthews holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Louisville, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas and Texas A&M.

**The Penn State staff has extended an offer to 2024 defensive end Jerod Smith from Windsor, Connecticut. Smith (6’3″, 260) also has been offered by Arizona, Boston College, Kentucky, Louisville, Mississippi, Nebraska, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee and Virginia. Smith received the offer from Kenny Sanders.
