With less than a month remaining before the traditional signing day for the class of 2021, Penn State has identified a new target. The Nittany Lions extended an offer last week to Florida cornerback Dontae Balfour.
A three-star recruit, Balfour has garnered significant interest over the past few months. In addition to the Nittany Lions, UNC, LSU, Oregon, Tennessee, Missouri, and Auburn have all offered Balfour since the beginning of November. In early December, he listed Missouri and Auburn as his finalists, but elected not to sign during the early period, opting for Feb. 3 instead.
From Starke, Florida, Balfour attends Bradford High School, where he also plays basketball and track and field. On the gridiron, he was a Jacksonville.com All-First Coast pick in his senior campaign.
