Penn State Re-Offers SEC QB Commit

In recruiting news, Penn State football has re-offered an SEC QB commit.

Monday evening, a four-star Class of 2027 QB by the name of Keegan Croucher announced that he had been re-offered by Penn State and new QB coach Jake Waters.

Croucher is one of the better QBs in the country from his class.

247Sports’ composite rankings have Croucher, a star from Cheshire Academy in Fonda, New York, as the No. 18 QB in the country, along with the No. 2 overall player in New York and the No. 220 player nationally. Penn State offered Croucher in June, and Penn State was a finalist for him. But Croucher ultimately decided to commit to Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss, which led to Kiffin trolling Penn State.

But now, Kiffin has left for LSU, and although Croucher remains committed to Ole Miss, his recruitment is more compelling than it was entering the month.

Along with Penn State and Ole Miss, the 6-foot-4, 206-pounder also has offers from schools such as Cincinnati, Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Syracuse, UCLA and Virginia.

In a scouting report for 247Sports written in Sept. 2024, Greg Biggins describes Croucher as anintriguing three-sport athlete who also plays basketball and baseball and is a legitimate prospect as a pitcher.”

“Had a very productive freshman year, throwing for 2,934 yards and 31 touchdowns with just three interceptions, the report read. He’s a big, strong kid with a projectable 6-4, 190-pound frame that we can easily see carrying another 20-25 pounds or so when he’s playing in college. Has a live arm and easy velocity, can get the ball down the field with ease without a big windup. Strong mechanically with a tight release and can throw from different arm angles. Shows good mobility in the pocket, can feel pressure and either climb the pocket or escape outside and make plays off-script. Has a really nice all-around game and looks like one of the better pure throwers in the ’27 class. Projects as a high Power 4 prospect who should be recruited at the national level.”

Penn State currently doesn’t any committs in it’s 2027 recruiting Class, with new head coach Matt Campbell in the process of rebuilding it.
