Penn State Class of ‘26 OT Commit Flips To Syracuse

Head coach James Franklin falls to 4-16 against Ohio State and Michigan.

After landing three-star DePaul Catholic (Wayne, New Jersey) tackle Marlen Bright on Saturday, three-star Timber Creek (Blackwood, New Jersey) tackle Roseby Lubintus has flipped his commitment from Penn State to Syracuse this evening.

Lubintus measures at 6’6” and 350 pounds had been a Penn State commit since April.

“Penn State was my first offer and they’re still here,” Lubintus said after committing to Penn State in April. “A lot of schools have offered, but I haven’t talked to them since the season. With Penn State, I knew from the start that my offer was progressive because I didn’t have much film and things like that. They’ve stuck it out with me to see what I could do, and that really sticks with me. That takes things to a whole different level.”

As time gone on, Lubintus had a change of heart and felt more at home with Syracuse.

“I liked Syracuse from the beginning,” Lubinitus said of his decision to commit to Syracuse. “It felt like the right option.”

“For me I feel like I rushed into it. I was searching more for a name than the right place. I was trying to find somewhere that looked the best and not feel the best. I realized Syracuse, Coach Fran, all the coaches there are the best place for me as a person, for football and the best overall.”

Despite losing Lubintus, offensive line coach Phil Trautwein isn’t short on tackles in the Class of 2026. Along with Bright, Penn State has pledges from three-star Beech (Hendersonville, Tennessee) tackle Jack Fuchs and four-star Harrisburg (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) tackle Kevin Brown.
