Heading into Saturday’s regular season finale, Penn State basketball hadn’t won in Madison, Wisconsin, in over 30 years. And in the opening four minutes against the No. 12 team in the country, it looked like that streak was going to be extended to 31.
Wisconsin led 16-3 by the first media timeout, and led by that much two more times throughout the first 20 minutes of the game. However, from the 4:15 mark of the first half to the 16:34 mark of the second, Penn State went on a 21-7 run, earning its first lead of the game. The Nittany Lions would trail once more (60-59), but they responded with a 27-15 close to the game, giving them the upset win.
Afterwards, social media had mixed feelings after Mike Rhoades guided his team to its fourth win against a top-15 ranked opponent during his PSU tenure:

Statement wins vs. Purdue and Wisconsin to start and end the conference season…it was the 4-14 part in the middle that was the problem.

Penn State did not qualify for the Big Ten Tournament.
It just beat Wisconsin at the Kohl Center on Senior Day.
Anarchy?
Nope. Just College Basketball.
