Penn State head coach Mike Rhoades and players D’Marco Dunn and Zach Hicks met with the media to discuss January’s struggles, how they will close out the season, and some key player developments.
To start the new year, PSU is 2-7 and is now 3-8 in Big Ten play. The Nittany Lions are in a three-way tie for the last postseason spot in the conference and will have to find consistency on both ends of the floor to hold on to that position.
“โฆ We were playing very efficiently early on and even the Purdue game is an example and all that and then we hit January,” Rhoades said Monday. “All seasons are up and down โฆ Weโre just not sustaining it to a level where youโre winning Big Ten games at a consistent level, and thatโs what really hurt us in January.โ
Penn State is set to take on Minnesota (7 p.m. EST, BTN) on Tuesday at the Bryce Jordan Center. Both teams are on losing streaks entering the game, but PSU is 10-1 in games played in the Bryce Jordan Center.
