Penn State is now losing its No. 1 and No. 2 receivers from 2024 to the transfer portal.
Hours after No. 2 receiver Omari Evans announced that he’ll be entering the portal, word got out that the team’s top receiver from 2024, Harrison Wallace III, also plans to enter.
Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported the news early Tuesday evening.
Wallace was far and away Penn State football’s No. 1 receiver during the 2024 season. With 720 yards, Wallace had 305 more than the next-closest receiver (Evans) and had 25 more receptions than the next-closest (also Evans.)
This is a blow for Penn State in a way, but it’s also a sign that the 2025 receivers room will look much different, which would be a welcomed change.
TIME FOR A CHANGE
Evans’ apparent departure is another sign that the Penn State receivers room will look much different in 2025. We already knew that the team would be losing Julian Fleming, who is out of eligibility, and will be adding a pair of transfers in Kyron Hudson (USC) and Devonte Ross (Troy). The reason Penn State’s receivers room will have such a different look is that the production in 2024 just wasn’t good enough, and all of it culminated when the unit combined for zero catches and just five targets in the Orange Bowl/College Football Playoff semifinal loss to Notre Dame.
Maybe more help is on the way.
ARE MORE REINFORCEMENTS COMING?

So is Wallace and Evans leaving a sign that Penn State isn’t yet done adding in the transfer portal? It could be. Despite adding two talented targets for Allar, the fans want more, and maybe they’ll be getting it in the form of a big time player.
