Pribula, a 6-foot-2, 203-pounder, announced this past Sunday that heโd be entering the transfer portal after three seasons with Penn State.
As coach James Franklin explained at his weekly presser the next day, Pribula also wonโt be with the team during its College Football Playoff run.
Some hypothetical chatter about the notion Beau Pribula could enter the portal and still help Penn State out in the postseason. James Franklin's answer to that scenario. pic.twitter.com/Hqj87SucD6

The good news for Pribula is that plenty of places need a quarterback, even some in the Power Four. Missouri is one of them, and thatโs where Pribula is visiting Tuesday evening.
PRIBULAโS ROLE
Although Pribula technically was a backup QB, he wasnโt a traditional QB2. Pribula appeared in each of Penn Stateโs first 13 games, used mainly as a runner. He ended the season with 242 yards and four touchdowns on 38 carries. Pribula only passed the ball 35 times but completed 26 of them, with his finest hour coming Oct. 26 at Wisconsin.ย
Starting QB Drew Allar got hurt late in the first half, and with Penn State down 10-7 at the half, somebody needed to step up.
On defense, that guy was Jaylen Reed, whose Pick 6 gave Penn State a lead it wouldnโt lose.
On offense, Pribula was that guy. He went 11-for-13 for 98 yards and a touchdown. The next week, Allar was fine and Pribula went back into his Swiss Army Knife role. But for the second half of that Madison night, Pribula was the man for Penn State. If Pribula wasnโt sharp, who knows if Penn State beats Wisconsin? If Penn State doesnโt beat Wisconsin, it isnโt in the College Football Playoff.
OTHER SUITORS
Missouri isnโt the only place thatโs interested in Pribula. Zenitz reported that Pribula is โalso garnering interest from schools like Ole Miss, UCF, Iowa and others.โ
Penn State plays at Iowa Oct. 18 next season. So thereโs a thought.
PSU has its first-ever playoff game scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21 against SMU at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon on TNT/HBO Max.
