Penn State wrestling did what Penn State wrestling does Sunday afternoon at Lehigh, cruising to a 36-3 dual meet win.

Nine of Penn State’s 10 starters won.

The only one that didn’t, Braeden Davis, was going against the No. 1 wrestler in the country at 133 in Ryan Crookham.

Davis fought hard in just his second match since moving to 133 from 125 but Crookham pulled it out 4-2.

Five of Penn State’s nine wins were of the bonus point variety.

149-pounder Shayne Van Ness (maj. dec), 165-pounder Mitchell Mesenbrink (tech fall), 174-pounder Levi Haines (pin), 184-pounder Carter Starocci (maj. dec), 197-pounder Josh Barr (maj.  dec) and heavyweight Greg Kerkvliet (tech fall) all got dominant victories.

No. 23 Barr’s win was perhaps most impressive of all. The No. 23-ranked wrestler took on former Penn Stater Michael Beard, who’s ranked No. 6. All he did was major him, 11-3.

Also getting a ranked win was No. 16 Luke Lilledahl. The true freshman 125-pounder took care of No. 15 Sheldon Seymour, 4-1.

Penn State is now 2-0 in the dual meet season. It’s next dual meet is Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Bryce Jordan Center against Wyoming. It was announced early Sunday afternoon that the meet would be moved from Rec Hall to the BJC because Rec Hall is being used for the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Regional final.

The dual meet is scheduled to begin at 1.
