One of the best to ever play at Penn State will be recognized during Saturday’s game against UCLA at Beaver Stadium.
Per the National Football Foundation, the NFF will recognize Paul Posluszny with a Hall of Fame on-campus salute.
This is possible because Posluszny is going to officially be a College Football Hall of Famer come December.
Posluszny played a large role in one of the most memorable seasons in Penn State history, helping Penn State go 11-1 in 2005 and finish No. 3 in the nation.
At PSU, Posluszny was a two-time consensus All-American, a two-time Chuck Bednarik Award winner for the nation’s top defender and won the Dick Butkus Award for the nation’s top linebacker in 2005.
After PSU, Posluszny played 11 NFL seasons for the Buffalo Bills (2007-10) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2011-17).
Along with individual accolades, Posluszny helped Penn State return to prominence after four losing seasons between 2000-’04, with the 11-1 2005 season being the highlight of that revival.
Upon his nomination, which was announced in January, coach James Franklin called Posluszny “a great example of what Penn State football is all about.”
“I am really excited for Paul Posluszny earning this well-deserved honor of being elected into the College Football Hall of Fame,” Penn PSU coach James Franklin said in a statement. “Paul is a great example of what Penn State Football is all about. He was elite on the field as a player, a leader and an overall teammate, but, he was also a tremendous role model for this program off the field. He is one of the all-time greats to ever wear this uniform and is just another shining example of ‘Linebacker U.'”
Posluszny will be inducted Dec. 10 during the NFF’s annual dinner in Las Vegas.
