In the latest Pro Football Focus offensive tackle rankings for the 2024 NFL Draft, PFF ranked Penn State’s Olu Fashanu No. 1
The 6-foot-6, 319-pounder Fashanu likely would have been a first-round selection had he declared for the 2023 NFL Draft but he elected to stay in school.
Joe Alt of Notre Dame finished second in the rankings followed by Graham Barton of Duke, JC Latham of Alabama and Jordan Morgan of Arizona.
Fashanu, according to PFF, allowed no sacks in 299 pass blocking snaps last and allowed pressure in only three percent of snaps. His play earned him second-team All-Big Ten according to PFF.
PFF in its scouting report on Fashanu noted that it likes his movement skills at his size and uses great body control when he moves to the point of attack.
PFF is also impressed with him knowing the importance of chemistry along the offensive line, especially since he doesn’t turn 21 until December.
Fashanu’s display of leadership earned him the title of offensive team captain for this.
Fashanu will lead Penn State at home against West Virginia Sept. 2.
