Penn State joins USC and Michigan in the trio of teams competing for Palepale, who is ranked as the No. 54 overall defensive lineman and No. 16 in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2024 according to 247Sports.
Palepale had more than 25 Division I offers before narrowing down his list to three choices on Monday.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 303 pounds, Palepale passed on transferring to IMG Academy to finish out his high school career at Hempfield this upcoming fall. He was selected to the Class 6A All-State First Team by the Pennsylvania Football Writers, while being named the Lancaster-Lebanon League’s Outstanding Lineman of the Year and Section One Offensive and Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Hempfield won the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One title in 2022 and reached the District Three Class 6A semifinals with Palepale playing offensive tackle and moving around the defensive line.
