Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson has announced that he will be foregoing his final season of eligibility to enter the 2022 NFL Draft thus skipping the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1st when the Nittany Lions face the 21st ranked Arkansas Razorbacks,

Dotson joins teammates Ellis Brooks, Brandon Smith, and Jaquan Brisker as Penn State players that will opt out of Saturday’s game.
Dotson recorded 91 catches for 1182 yards, and 12 touchdowns in the 2021 season including setting a school record of 242 yards in a November 6th win over Maryland. The previous record-holder was Deion Butler held the mark of 216 yards he set back in 2006.

The Newark, NJ native was named first-team All-Big Ten and Associated Press third-team All-American Honors. Dotson Will leave the school with the second-most receptions in school history with 181, the second-most touchdown receptions with 25, and fourth in school history with 2,757 receiving yards.

Mel Kiper previously had him as the 17th best overall prospect in the draft, and Todd McShay had him going to the Kansas City Chiefs at pick number 29 in his latest mock draft.

In workouts earlier this year before fall camp, Dotson was clocked in running a 40 yard dash time of 4.33. Dotson’s time would be the second-fastest time by a Penn State player behind only former teammate and current Denver Bronco K.J. Hamler since they started recording workout times in 2012.

The next time the Nittany Lion faithful will see Dotson in action will be at the Reese’s Senior Bowl on February 5th, 2022 in Mobile, Alabama.
