Penn State Offers 8th Grade Quarterback Julian “Ju Ju” Lewis

James Franklin and Penn State are attempting to get in early with a talented young player.

Thursday morning, the Penn State program extended an offer to 8th grade quarterback Julian Lewis from Carrollton, Georgia. Believe it not, the Nittany Lions aren’t the first offer for Lewis as on Wednesday, he received his first offer from Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators. In fact, Lewis will be attending the game this weekend between Florida and Alabama.

Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson are Georgia natives that have gone onto stardom and Lewis is hoping to be the next.

”I was super excited! It’s a huge honor!,” Lewis tells Nittany Sports Now. “Our HS coach told me that Penn State called and offered me. It’s a blessing. I’ve been working since I can remember for an opportunity to play on the Power Five level. These offers are just more motivation and let’s me know that if I keep working it will happen.”

Despite only being in 8th grade, Lewis plays for Carrollton High School’s ninth-grade team in their games on Thursday. He also spends time with the high school team standing on the sidelines with them on Friday night and spent the summer practicing with them in the summer and learning their offensive system.

Along with the initial offers from Penn State and Florida, Lewis is being followed by both Georgia and Clemson.

It’s obviously very, very early but this won’t be the last time you hear the name Julian Lewis in the college football recruiting circles.
