It was a successful weekend for James Franklin and Penn State as they not only beat Pitt but also landed a recruit in their backyard.
After making an official visit to State College over the weekend, Aliquippa 3-star defensive end/linebacker Zuriah Fisher gave a verbal commitment on Monday to Penn State. Fisher becomes the first WPIAL player in the Class of 2020 and the 25th player to commit to Franklin’s program.

Fisher (6’3”, 240) held over 25+ offers but in the end, selected Penn State over Michigan State. The Aliquippa star cited the proximity to his hometown and the tenacity in which the Penn State defensive coaches recruited him as reasons for choosing Penn Stare.
