INDIANAPOLIS— Penn State fans who thought Abdul Carter was done making cryptic social media posts were mistaken.
Early Thursday morning, Carter— who reportedly is dealing with a foot injury that will not require surgery— posted a picture of Darth Vader.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to Penn State fans.
When Carter suffered a shoulder injury against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl New Year’s Eve, he posted multiple pictures of who Darth Varder used to be— Anakin Skywalker— being inside a pod, used to repair his body after being burned alive at the end of Episode III. The caption of Carter’s post read: “Revenge of the ST1X,” which is a play on “revenge of the sith.” So it’s clear that Carter is Darth Vader.
It’s also clear now that he will not need surgery on another injury.
NO SURGERY REQUIRED

Late Wednesday night, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Carter needed to make a decision soon on whether or not to have foot surgery to take care of a stress reaction.
Later in the morning, Schefter reported that Carter was told foot surgery is not advisable.
Abdul Carter still plans to work out at Penn State football’s Pro Day March 28, and his agent isn’t too worried about Carter’s draft stock.
“I couldn’t be more confident that this will be a non-factor where he’s drafted,” Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN. “He will put on a show at his pro day.”
NO. 1?

So will Carter go No. 1 overall to the Jaguars?
It’s certainly possible, and Carter believes he is the best option.
“I feel like I’m the best player in the country,” Carter told reporters at his Combine presser, “and the best player should be selected No. 1.”
The first night of this year’s NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Carter plans on attending in person.
