A class of 2025 prospect from Florida has Penn State as one of his finalists.
Early Tuesday afternoon, Max Redmon, a three-star ATH from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, announced that Penn State had made his top seven.

Other finalists are Florida State, Indiana, Illinois, Louisville, Syracuse and South Florida.
Penn State offered the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder in December. Along with the seven finalists, he also has offers from schools such as Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Pitt, UCF and West Virginia. Redmon’s listed as a safety by 247Sports but, per a report by 247’s Andrew Ivins, spent most of the 2022 season at linebacker.
Redmon ended that season with 63 tackles, an interception, a sack and a pass breakup.
In 2023, he ended with 64 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, two interceptions, three sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
After getting offered by Penn State, he spoke with 247Sports about his experience with the school.
“It means a lot being recognized by a big school such as Penn State. It’s just another blessing from God. I know they are a great program, got a lot of alumni in the NFL and just have a good background overall.”
He also spoke highly specifically of Penn State’s head coach James Franklin and safeties coach Anthony Poindexter.
“They’re really good guys,” Redmon said. “They treat you with respect and they make you feel like you’re part of the family at Penn State.”
Florida State appears to be the current front runner for Redmon. 247Sports’ Florida State insider, Zach Blostein, placed a “Crystal Ball” projection for Redmon commit to FSU. Florida State is also the only school Redmon has an official visit scheduled for. He plans on going there the weekend of June 7.
