It’s fair to say that Penn State OL Caedan Wallace has flown under the radar.
Of the 10 Penn State players at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this past week, three of them were offensive linemen.
Headlining that group was likely top-10 pick Olu Fashanu, who talked to a large crowd of reporters.
Hunter Nourzad, who started at center for Penn State this season, didn’t have nearly the crowd Fashanu had but still was at one of the Indiana Convention Center’s main podiums.
Then there was Wallace, who wasn’t at a traditional podium, but a table off to the side.
So when Wallace goes through his workouts Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium, there might not be too many people talking about him as somebody to watch.
Wallace’s goal is to have a lot of people discussing him by the time he’s done.
When Nittany Sports Now asked Wallace what his goals were for the Combine, he didn’t want to give too many specifics.
But he did give a good quote, saying he had some “crazy” goals.
“I think the world’s going to be shocked at what I do on Sunday,” Wallace said. “I’d rather not speak on specific numbers, but I think that everyone’s going to be extremely impressed by what goes on Sunday. So I’m really excited to go out there tomorrow and shock the world.”
Wallace was at Penn State for five seasons and started for four of them, starting 40 games at right tackle. But Wallace became a top 100 recruit out of high school by playing guard, and that’s where he had a lot of reps at the East-West Shrine Bowl last month.
Wallace played the best football of his career in 2023 and now has a chance to help himself get to the game’s highest level.
